Moving NY to SC, any recommendations for a mover? I'm not really sure what to look for but I was quoted $6k (for a summer weekend) and that seems high. Is there a place I can compare movers online or get recommendations?

Old City Movers. Based out of Philly. Great company, reasonable quotes. Check out their yelp or go to oldcitymovers.com
Good morning! Looking for moving company recommendations for a local move. Please and thank you!

Old City Movers are seriously the best - I have used them 4 times, and every time is a pleasure! They often over-quote, so I'm over-joyed with the difference. Just prepare most of your things in banker's boxes or printer paper-sized boxes (easier for them to take 3-4 at a time) and watch your things fly out the door and into your new place!. http://www.oldcitymovers.com/
Can anyone recommend a relatively reasonable moving company? I'm just moving from Grad Hospital to Point Breeze.

Old City Movers ARE THE BEST! I've used them about 3 times, and they are the MOST reliable and efficient workers I've ever SEEN! They walk through your door, assess the situation, and start their clocks (I've never used them for more than 2 hours - very affordable). http://www.oldcitymovers.com/

Try Skybox movers. They were able to help us out last minute after Old City Movers called us a week before our move and said oops, sorry, we overbooked and have to cancel the reservation you made a month ago. Our entire experience with them was great -- they did accidentally break one thing, and ordered a replacement for us same day.
