About us
The Court of Master Sommeliers was established to encourage improved standards of beverage service in hotels and restaurants.
Education was then, and remains today the Court's charter.
The first successful Master Sommeliers examination was held in the United Kingdom in 1969. By April 1977, the Court of Master Sommeliers was established as the premier international examining body.
It took the Court 10 years to perfect it's qualifications, which today are recognized internationally.

One of the reasons I am going to France is to learn french, and in a city like Lyon, I will probably tutor english a few days a week. What I am looking for is a good wine shop, with an english-speaking owner, that would allow me to come in and taste and practice my french. It does not need to be a paid position, and I do work in a wine shop and also a restaurant here in Louisville, Kentucky. Any and all contacts would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! ~Hope

Just keep in mind that listed Gerard was trained in Lyon so there is a connection, isn't it! Dom
