Contractor Accountant Recommendations Hi
Does anyone have any good experiences with accounting firms for their contracting businesses? I have had two awful ones that were not the cheapest and all my friends with different ones have had complaints.
I am an accountant by trade and tend to keep my own records anyway just need help with document filing and advice, I don't think it should be that hard.
Thanks in advance.

I am very happy with maslins. They will respond to any question within minutes, and know all the ins and outs of contracting, freelancing etc https://www.maslins.co.uk/
Any recommendations for accountants in the Bedford area ?
I’m a self employed sole trader with a looming tax return.
Thanks in advance.
I’ll buy you all a tax deductible pint in February.

Not Bedford but self employed specialist, who is great on phone and email (your accountant doesn’t need to be local) http://www.maslins.co.uk/
Any accountants close to Maidstone please.
Can no longer handle my accounts so need an accountant who is good and knows what they are doing.

Assuming you mean Maidstone in Kent, and using FreeAgent software, then Chris Maslin from Maslins Accountants. http://www.maslins.co.uk/ He's the only one I'm aware of from that area, very knowledgeable and friendly enough. If you contact him then you're welcome to say that Kirsty Grimes from the 4N forum hasn't forgotten him! :) If he's not suitable he may be aware of others who are - as he niches on Freeagent I expect he's used to referring people to others locally.
Dull question of the day, can anyone recommend an accountant, preferably in Woking/Farnborough, central London also ok (though I expect that'll make them more expensive!)
It's worth reminding that I don't drive

Erm depends what you need. I use Maslins (maslins.co.uk) who are great value, mostly work over email/online and specialise in digital freelancers.
Accountants! Can anyone recommend a good one?
I'm looking to switch to Ltd company status very soon and could well do without organising it myself. Also would be a huge benefit if I could just give them access to my FreeAgent account rather than having to put it all into Excel or cart my receipts in (am really keen to have less admin work not more). Robert I know you're a FreeAgent user; who do you use and how does it work?
Any suggestions appreciated, thanks in advance.

I only just noticed my name tagged in this, sorry about that Marc ! I use a guy in Kent named Chris Maslin. Website here: http://www.maslins.co.uk - his fee includes the £25 FreeAgent fee and he's a really top bloke. He monitor's my FreeAgent account a nd as he's obviously tech focused he has a lot of clients which face similar issues as I do with my accounting (overseas stuff, Apple Store money, etc). One thing: he doesn't do PAYE (he does your director self assessment at the end of the year for free, but doesn't manage PAYE of employees) so that's something to think about!
