What kind of metal should I be looking for, which bars be horizontal and which veritcal, and other kinds of things I should be thinking about. Aluminum is light weight, I can roll it around on wood floors easily, cleans easier than powder coated cages I had previously, no rust, horizontal & vertical bars so they can climb & slide. I prefer the dome top because my girls sleep in tents up there & I can hang a lot of enrichment things & still see them. Kings does have smaller cages if necessary, but cockatiels need a lot of room to flutter about in, don't they? Caiques, not so much--they love climbing. Good luck!
