I've owned it about four years, and sometimes the zipper's teeth "pull apart" when I've got it zipped up. It's a good jacket so if there's somewhere local I can take it for repair that doesn't cost too much... I will not attempt repair myself as even sowing on a button is challenging for me.

  Sounds like it just needs a new zipper which is a pretty straightforward repair for most places. I've used Rainy Pass Repair (www.rainypass.com) and been very satisfied with their work and prices. I hear there are other places that are just as good and even cheaper but not familiar with them. Sure someone who is will be along shortly.

  I suspect it's the same issue as with the Grey Jays, they get habituated to people who feed them, i.e. don't properly store their food and scented items. If you want to go the pro route I believe Rainy Pass Repair in Seattle does tents and they come highly recommended by this group. http://rainypass.com

  I think Seattle Fabrics and C.H. Holderby keep a list of sewers on hand for industrial work, so you might give them a call. Many tailors/cobblers will have an industrial walking foot machine that can do this work, but getting people do it... that's a whole other thing. You could also try [Rainy Pass](http://rainypass.com/). You may have good luck advertising this as a job on Craigslist with some sewing keywords because this is almost too little work to bother a bigger shop.
