  Cheap hostels or places to stay? I plan on visiting this city for the first time on the week of the 29th of this month. My plan is to stay here for 2-3 nights so I can sight see, and meet new people. Perhaps if I like it enough, I'd possibly relocate, since moving has been on my mind for a while now. I've messaged a few people on couchsurf, but haven't had much luck. I don't have much to spend for hotels at the moment, so I'm looking for something affordable or free if possible.   Not to be a dick, but if you don't have the money for a hotel room, you probably don't have the money to relocate to Portland yet. This is an increasingly expensive town with one of the most competitive rental and job markets in the country, which demands a lot of start-up capital for a move.   The [NW Hostel](http://nwportlandhostel.com/) is within walking distance of downtown. Also close to the streetcar and train. But as mentioned, there are also good deals to be found on airbnb.
