Spent 15 years back and forth to Osteopath, although the Alexander technique is effective and can help correct bad posture (Leading to pain) in the future it cannot and does not treat the immediate problems such as pain and muscle fatigue. Chiro practice is similar however they use more diagnostic procedures such as X-rays, MRI scans and blood and urine tests; this will incure more expense for you! A good HANDS ON Osteopath and one that doesn't use electrical massage devices are better in my opinion. I went to see an Osteopath in England...paid £60 for 30 mins...he did very little hands on manipulation (To feel what the bones and muscle were doing) and then used vibrating pads on the muscles....Bollocks! Ive been going to Sally Peters (http://www.cairngormclinic.co.uk/d_Treatments-Osteopathy.html) on and off for years.....she is hands on, intuitive and is strong because that's what you need from someone who is cracking bones; controlled precise manipulation. The relief can be amazing. Last point, although Osteopathy doesn't use X-rays etc etc they will ask lots of questions, look at your posture and still get to resolve the problem. If it helps call Sally (Even though she is here in Scotland) as she is lovely and very helpful regardless of whether your parting with cash or not! Hope this helps x
