Canadian visiting Houston for the first time. In search of authentic Vietnamese fare! Hi,
Vietnamese-Canadian from Vancouver BC and visiting Houston for the very first time! I'm looking for good Vietnamese restaurants to try out during my stay. I would say we're fortunate to have some decent places to eat at as we have a fairly big Vietnamese community up here in Vancouver (Although, nowhere near as large as Houston's), but I find we lack variety on the menu (there's more to Vietnamese food than just pho and banh mi). What are some 'must-go' places Houstonians would recommend for authentic Vietnamese food?
Thanks in advance.

My favorites are [Les Baget](http://www.lesbaget.com/) and [Hughie's](http://www.hughiesgrille.com/). I doubt these are the most authentic but they're very good. In terms of more authentic I think you'll find most in Midtown, places like Les Givral's, Thian An Sandwiches, and Mai's. Pho Binh is also good - there are several locations. Also not sure if the Vietnamese Crawfish places are still serving since it's close to the end of the season but you should give that a shot at with Crawfish & Noodles or LA Crawfish.
looking for some good Viet restaurant, in the mood for spring rolls and chicken lemongrass ... any suggestions?

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Hughies, which recently opened in an old Dairy Queen location near 18 th & Ella. Several people mentioned the spring rolls are great and I've also heard good things about lemongrass tofu. From what I've he ard, they are accommodating so would probably make lemongrass chicken in lieu of tofu. Not sure if it's destination-great or neighborhood-great - I've only heard about it from folks in the area. All raves so far! http://www.hughiesgrille.com/
