  When it comes to piano and other music teachers, you must only go to teachers approved by the Incorporated Society of Musicians, the only professional organisation of its kind to actively vet teachers - membership is by invitation only! I'm not sure about Horsham but I can tell you that it's well worth travelling up to Leatherhead for lessons with Dr Julie Ainscough - www.organum.org.uk - who is preeminent in the South-East. Outwith the ISM, you have no guarantee of quality nor comeback if you are dissatisfied - and I can tell you that there are definitely some truly dreadful and completely incompetent teachers out there!
