  Moving to Eugene soon. Metal is cool, but I'm eclectic. Anyone have any suggestions of places or people I should be into locally? I like punk, shoegaze, synth/dream pop, psychedelic rock, indie, grunge. Pretty much anything. I'm aware of starfucker, but that's Portland. Any help would be super dope! Thanx!

  I work for Black Forest and I can tell you first hand we have underground touring acts of all genres 3-5 nights a week. You can keep up with happenings via our crappy website or facebook fan page. www.blackforesteugene.com The aforementioned local acts & venues are all unique and eclectic. Eugene is eclectic. You'll surely find what you're looking for.

  It really honestly depends on what your expectations are. Personally, myself, I think Eugene has a very wide variety of great local musical acts and usually there is something going down somewhere, especially if you have eclectic tastes and are into a lot of different genres. Many underground touring acts also stop by through here as well, and the WOW Hall and McDonald Theatre get some larger tour packages (not so much for the metulz lately though). As for places to see good stuff: Black Forest Wandering Goat Sam Bond's The Granary Luckey's WOW Hall As for people I try to be a cool dude! Lol but really, some great local acts are Era Coda, Hamilton Beach, Children, the Great Hiatum, Lost Odyssey, the ILLusionists, The Lowmen, Tormentium, Toxic Witch, Septic Burial, Psithurism, Omnihility,Cruciation, Arkhum, Maestus, Ninth Moon Black, Deiphagist, Dark Confidant, Elohim... That list could go on for a while.

  No problem, glad to help out ! I spend most of my time (being the metal loving dude I am) mostly at Black Forest or The Wandering Goat, but I have a ton of friends in a lot of acts of different styles, so it really depends lately on who's playing where. Like I said, if you have a wide taste in music, Eugene's usually got something going down!

  Wow Hall, Wandering Goat, Black Forest, and Tiny's. The Boreal 's sound sucks and you'll get lectured if you smoke a joint where anyone can see you, lol.
