MIke W. wrote: Adam quoted for a complete bathroom refurbish which would take 2 weeks to complete. During the refurb the house was occupied by tenants so timing was critical. On Day 3 a self-induced on-site H&S incident caused Adam to be off for approx 4 working days and this was further extended when more treatment was required. Unfortunately he did not resource alternative trades and the job dragged on. Thus the 2 week project took 4 weeks. On final inspection the work was, in my opinion, of a much lower standard than I was expecting. As an example the grouting was incomplete and a section of tiling had an uneven seam with the ceiling. Adam was adamant that the fault was because because the ceiling was uneven although a check with a straight edge suggested otherwise. Additionally, the silicon sealant was thickly applied and uneven. Other issues were discussed. Overall a disappointing project which took twice as long as expected and the final finish was, in my opinion, very average at best. My parting words to him were to concentrate on quality as that is what the customer expects. I was also a little surprised about his aggressive attitude to receiving outstanding monies due. For example on the penultimate evening i was given what amounted to an ultimatum; pay up tonight or I won't come tomorrow. As it happened I didn't pay and he came but as an exercise in customer relations it wasn't very subtle. I have read other critical reviews and noted Adam's responses. I'll get my bit in first. I'm a reasonable chap, I made the major stage payments on scheduled and didn't ask anything unreasonable of him.Was this review helpful to you? -
