Prior to making the trip to Georgia I had my car checked out by a trusted mechanic who said I may need an axle replaced but he was not sure that the axle was the cause for the sound my car was making.   Affordable and reliable mechanic? I've taken my old van to several places since I bought it two months ago and ask them to do a full inspection and they all say different stuff needs fixed. Van is making a front end groaning sound while driving slow speeds on and off up to 30 mph and when braking when driving very slow 5 to 10 mph. Not a squealing noise and brakes and rotors were told to be in great shape by several mechanics.
