D asks: My 4 year old has always been a good sleeper but has recently developed a fear ? of the dark & won't stay in her bed unless we sleep in there with her. This has been going on for 2 weeks now. We put her to bed in her own bed at 7pm & stay with her til she is asleep (5 mins). She has a teddy bear & a night light. She wakes distressed anywhere between 10pm - 4am & to avoid her waking up her younger brother we sleep in her bed. Because we are sharing a king single none of us are getting a good night sleep. What have other parents done? Should we buy a mattress for our bedroom & let her sleep there. Is it just a phase? Any other tips? Thank you
