I just bought my first Ayers Legends German Shepherd and cannot say enough great things about the experience I had with Rob and his wife Casey. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to pick up my boy from Roberts home where I had a chance to see all the beautiful Shepherds in his breeding program. After meeting all of his beautiful dogs it was easy to see where my boy gets his great genetics and confident demeanor! Definitely some of the most impressive dogs I have ever seen. This is the 7th German Shepherd i have owned, and could not be more happy with how amazing my Ayers Shepherd is.

My wife and I purchased two beautiful healthy and smart well tempered puppies from Ayers legends German shepherds. Robert worked with us to make sure we got the kind of puppies that we had asked for. I never really expected these puppies to be as well behaved at such a young age. we crate trained them which was easy as well. To be two young GSD we were kind of scared to leave them out of the crates while we went out to dinner or to the movies because they were so young but they were so good so we gave them a test for about 2 hours while we watched them on our security cameras and i couldn't believe it..they were laying down sleeping and that was the last time we crated them and they were about 6 months old..So Ayers legends has some of the best and smartest not to mention their dogs are an eye catcher!! People can't stop looking at them because of the way they look and behave.. I would be another pup or two from Ayers legends!

I had never owned a dog before and of course had a million questions. Robert was always available to answer any strange thing I had to ask (and still fields my questions after getting my puppy). The puppy I got from Ayers is a big, sweet and playful boy who loves people, other dogs and cats. He’s big, and healthy and I couldn’t have asked for a better dog. I have people tell me all the time that he has an amazing temperament and stop me on the street to ask where he came from.

We got our Ayers Legend dog over 4 years ago and we have never had a problem. I've been out to the facility many times and each time is a great experience for me and robert is one hell of a man and breeder. He knows what he's doing and I plan on getting our next puppy from him again. He's always been honest with us and everybody. I love the people and his dogs. They are great people and plus I've known these people for longer than 4 years and I would definitely recommend Ayers Legend to anyone who's looking for a good dog. They treat you like family and will always help you out no matter what. I love the Ayers Legend family and will continue to support them in every way.

After vetting breeders for a SOLID YEAR, we selected Ayers Legends. We canvassed breeders with price points as low as $800 and as high as $3,500 per puppy. We did not select Ayers for price point, although affordable, but for the quality of their dogs and their environment. Many other breeders couldn’t tell you the temperaments of their male/female breeder dogs, yet Rob and family could site each of his dogs by name, age, lineage, AND temperament while on a random phone call! Completely out on the spot, he answered all my questions about his dogs and after a few back and forth messages about what we were looking for in our family companion, he was able to narrow us down to a first- and second- choice litter. Had to wait six months but it was worth it! Puppy mills don’t make you wait... just saying

I’ve known Casey & Robert Ayers to be exceptional, honest and caring breeders from the first time I spoke with them 9 years ago. I have watched and listened to many of their satisfied loving puppy parents, discuss and praise Casey & Robert for their diligence matching male and female dogs to get the best puppies of the breed. There have not been any of the normal health issues you might see in German Shepherds when AYERS LEGENDS is the breeder. The old style GSD’s that they breed are intelligent, loving, easy to train extra large family care takers. Many of the Ayers family (people with their dogs) on the FB group, are always impressed with Casey & Roberts expertise and helpful phone conversations, that they are happy to recommend AYERS LEGENDS GERMAN SHEPHERDS. Yes I have a pup who will be 12 months old on January 14th. He is a dark Sable fathered by Kino Judge, his name, is 30” at the withers and 125 pounds. When he stops growing at about 2 years he will continue to be well muscled, tall with the right weight for his height. If you are looking for a magnificent well bred GSD go no further the AYERS LEGENDS family German Shepherds.

This is one of the best breeders of german shepherds around. I got a beautiful healthy girl from him, who is now my youngest child's service dog. When i am ready for another shepherd i will be going back to him. He is caring, wants what is best for his puppies, and is ALWAYS fast to respond to questions or to give advice. He cares for both his puppies and his customers. I read some of the other reviews and i can say they are incorrect. In my case i had multiple phone calls with Robert to discuss his puppies and my lifestyle. He comes across as nothing but a caring person who does want the best for his puppies and retired breeders. I myself have spoken to people who have met his dogs and they have said that his dogs have excellent personalities. I would also, as a trainer, say it is normal for a dog, who is sent to live with another person to be nervous, as that is a brand new environment for that dog.

The Ayers breeding program is not what it used to be. Robert Ayers got big to fast. Lots of problems with the pups health and hips. Robert will sell a pup to anyone with zero screening. I've witnessed two horrendous owners already. My own Ayers pups may have issues in his hip. He breeds the females too often now with little time in between litters. And the litters are small which means probable still borns. I have heard from other Ayers owners the retired females are skiddish and act like they were not treated so well. Many friends I have made through the Ayers family before I left have come out to share their own bad stories and experiences. I would not get an Ayers pup. Period. The worst part is Robert Ayers attitude towards bad owners or problem pups. He's just turning into a mill under the guise of a breeder. Not good. When I found a smaller breeder closer to me, they had heard the same in the breeder community about the Ayers breeding. Went completely downhill fast. One star is too much.

Ayers Legends are some of the best people I've had the pleasure of dealing with. I currently have 2 German shepherds from them and have put down a deposit for a 3rd. Rob and Casey are always a phone call away and from the start have encouraged me to stay in touch. Both pups came healthy and playful. They're extremely intelligent and well manner both have grown into tremendous family members. We cant wait for our new pup to arrive!!!

Just took my Ayers pup for a check-up yesterday. Direct quote from the vet "there is literally nothing you could do to improve on this boy, he is stunning." Of course I'm a bit biased but time and time again vets, dog trainers, kids, friends and strangers alike are absolutely taken by the temperament and looks of my gorgeous Ayers pup. It's truly an excellent breeding program, and one that includes a family of support that I didn't expect, but now couldn't imagine being without. Thank you Robert and the rest of the Ayers fam!

Without question, 5 stars. Ayers Legends has a top notch breeding program that is both safe and responsible. Their responsiveness and service is second to none, and most of all, I am now the proud owner of an extremely large, healthy, strong, handsome, intelligent, loyal, curious, obedient, courageous, and alert German Shepherd Dog (GSD). I could not be more happy with my decision to find my best friend here. Highly recommend.

  • WhoDoYou Review from February 21, 2019
I’m offering a preamble to the post, so readers understand that we are very much the average GSD owners, with above average expectations that Ayers Legends was able to meet. My wife and I have been blessed to own high-quality GSDs. We are both doctors (me academic, her the more useful medical DNP). I travel frequently, and my wife is comfortable because she has a massive GSD always within feet of her. Our current GSD, Mako, is almost 12 and extremely intelligent. Mako learned his handler protection skills and obedience primarily from watching our first GSD, Tonka. Mako wanders 1.5 acres of unfenced area and will not cross the boundary even when our neighbors, who are well-known to us, call to him. The neighbors describe Mako as “huge” and intimidating. When we started looking for Mako's friend, we researched and watched different breeders online for more than 6 months. We wanted the potential for the following: a) a larger than average GSD, b) good socialization, and c) excellent temperament. Ultimately, we chose to become part of the Ayers family. In part, we chose Robert Ayers, not just an Ayers Legend GSD. Robert is demanding for the sake of the GSD, he is also incredibly friendly and helpful. Meeting Robert Ayers: Because we are just as demanding as Robert, with high-expectations of the breeder, rather than having the puppy shipped we drove more than 1500 miles round-trip to pick-up the new addition. Shipping the puppy would have been faster and cheaper, but as I mentioned, we were choosing Robert Ayers; not just a puppy. When we arrived, a young lady was speaking to a potential Ayers Legends family member on the phone. She stopped briefly, greeted us with a smile and directed us to the main house. Over the next 30 minutes, we talked with Robert. We asked a multitude of questions and Robert took the time to answer every one of them in detail. In the adjoining room, I believe the living room, I watched a puppy with high-drive play and then pause frequently at the foot of a chair when a lady’s voice spoke in quiet tones. In time, we learned the puppy was our new Maverick, offspring of Mystic and Legend. The discovery was surprising because he was bigger than Mako at eight-weeks. The Homestead: If anyone doubts Robert’s commitment to the care of his pack, consider the following: a) Robert is the second generation of GSD breeder in his family and has forgotten more about GSDs than most people will ever know, b) Robert built a veritable fortress for the dogs. The dogs stand a better chance of surviving an Oklahoma storm, than does his family with only two legs, and c) Robert built a second building just for the care of newborns and the mothers. I have seen other breeding facilities and would describe those as kennels. Calling Robert’s accommodations, a kennel would be grossly incorrect and an insult he does not deserve. Back at Home: As required by Robert we took Maverick to the vet the morning after we picked him up, for his first visit. Our veterinarian is extremely competent, and even she marveled at Mavericks looks and demeanor. At 8 weeks he weighed just shy of 19 lbs, and as she noted, perfect for his size. After only a few weeks, Maverick is exceeding our expectations. His high-drive, despite his name, does not give way to being menacing. Maverick and Mako walk the property, with Mako stopping every few yards to check and make sure Maverick is close behind. We’ve been so thoroughly impressed by Robert and his accomplishments as a trusted breeder, that we are now on the waiting list for another male; the offspring of Tailor and Keystone. A priceless part of being a member of the Ayers Legends family is the support of all the other family members. Whether a person is seeking the insight of other family members, or Robert himself, the answer is typically only minutes away. Recommendation: Join the family!

We got our GSD from Ayers Legends a little over a year ago and are in love with our new family member. Ruger has been a total joy. He has an excellent temperament. He is gentle and patient with our youngest grandkids. And active and playful with the older children. Ruger is so intelligent and eager to please that training has been easy. And he is GORGEOUS!!!! We get compliments everywhere we go. I have been very pleased with the communication we have with Robert Ayres, the breeder. Phone calls, texts, emails and Facebook posts are answered quickly. Their Facebook page is very active – many posts and pictures every day. Robert answers questions on immunizations, training, feeding\raw feeding, grooming and any concerns we have. He gets my highest recommendation.

Ayers Legends German Shepherds are the best out there if you are looking for high quality, excellent temperament, straight back healthy dogs! I searched for years before finding this quality breeder and was not disappointed. I’m about to get our 2nd pup from them. The Ayers Family truly cares about all of their dogs and routinely has all of their dogs in the house to interact with the whole family including a newborn. They health check all of the parents and solid temperaments are a must. If you’re looking for a dog that runs on its hocks (like some of the famous shows) and looks like it is in pain, this is not the breeder for you. The Ayers have created a true family of owners and continually add value to your experience throughout the life of your dog.

We hunted for a nice straight back German Shepherd for a pet. We found Ayers Legends and the search stopped. We got a pup back in May of 2014 and could not be happier with him! He is about the best tempered boy we could ask for. He is just a sweet, laid back boy that we are in love with. Robert Ayers and his wife Casey are very helpful and we can call or text them anytime with questions and they are more than happy to help with advise. Happy to be a member of the Ayers group!!

I’m so pleased that I found Ayres Legends German Shepherds. I received a pup in April 2018 and she is healthy, smart, sweet, and beautiful! Robert and Casey are excellent breeders and truely care about this breed. They are very knowledgeable and answered my questions anytime without hesitation. I also love that Robert has created a Facebook page where all the owners can discuss, share, learn, and just be a big family because we all have the same goal, which is to do what is best for our dogs! I’m so thankful for Robert and Casey and the Ayres Legend Family! I will be looking into getting another pup from them in the future!

We have 4 beautiful Ayers Legends German Shepherds (3 years old and under) with a deposit down on a 5th. We’ve always received compliments on how stunning they are and how well behaved they are in public. We board dogs in our home and our pack are wonderful hosts to our guest dogs. Not only do we love the old-fashioned (natural) look with straight backs, we also love that in Ayers Legends we found a reputable breeder that clearly cares about upholding the integrity of his line, the health and well-being of his dogs, and the satisfaction of his family of owners. We love that there is on ongoing relationship of support and shared knowledge beyond the POS. Whether by private message, in the group page, or by phone the owners are always there when you need them.

My husband and I have 2 Ayers Legends GSD. We have been more than satisfied with both puppies. One is 13 months and the other is 9 months. They are beautiful, smart and have great temperaments. Our vet is very impressed with the quality of our dogs. Robert and Casey Ayers have been not only wonderful breeders, but are there to help with any questions when something comes up.

Ayers Legends German Shepherds (breeder Robert and Casey Ayers) is the premiere breeder of outstanding straight back, large boned, healthy/health tested German Shepherds in the entire United States. I waited many years to get my perfect GSD and when I found Ayers Legends, I was content and excited to wait even longer for one of their beauties. This breeder takes a personal pride, concern and responsibility for all his dogs that are placed in their forever home. It’s not a “take your money and see ya’ kind of breeder. It’s a breeder that will help you through the entire process and talk to you for whatever reason you need to make sure you’re 100% satisfied. It’s so much more than buying a dog. It’s getting your perfect dog, continuing education on vaccines, feeding, exercise, trouble shooting with sleeping, potty training, obedience training and beyond. Not only does he personally guide you through your concerns but has started a family Facebook group so all of us can keep in touch with each other and share pics of our dogs and help each other with ANY KIND OF ISSUE YOU CAN THINK OF. This has been great help to all and we’ve been blessed to develop a family like group, adding new members with every litter. It’s amazing . I’ve been with the group for over 4 yrs and have the MOST awesome dog and am awaiting my second this summer. For the first time ever, we’ve all experienced something that’s shocked us and cannot understand the reason behind some accusations. A new couple who got the most beautiful, female pup but began posting to our group political rants that were completely off putting and disturbing. Long story short, they were ask to stop but continued and were subsequently removed. They are now slandering Ayers Legends and posting false reviews here and many other sites. Look for yourselves on the Ayers Legends business page and see with your own eyes and read about hundreds of people that are beyond thrilled and will never look for another breeder for one of these magnificent German Shepherds.

Quite simply the best Old Fashioned german shepherds, I have come across. My pup is 8 months old and was healthy and beautiful from day one. I never fail to get comments on him when I take him for a walk. I'm hooked, someday I'd like to get another.

When we started researching for a German Shepherd pup Temperament and Heath where our biggest concerns. Being parents of an autistic son we needed a stable minded, patient, and heathy dog. Robert was amazing to talk to and knew his dogs and the pairings that would be best for our home environment!! We welcomed our first ALGSD into our home about a year and a half ago... Haven is amazing and above and beyond anything we could have imagined. We soon put another deposit down on our second ALGSD and Halo came home about 4 months ago... once again above and beyond what we expected!! The amazing dogs are just one part of what ALGSDs is though... Robert and Casey are always there ready to support and answer and address any questions or concerns, they are also above and beyond what we expected. We also joined their FB group "Family" of owners and it truly is a family of people from coast to coast that share our dogs, experiences, and love with each other. ALGSDs is one of our greatest blessings!!

I can't say enough about Ayers Legends German Shepherds. I've owned five GSD in my life and my current GSD is above and beyond my wildest expectations. He is smart and kind. My experience in working with Robert has been excellent. I had many questions when I was looking for a breeder. I knew what I wanted. He didn't pressure me. In fact, he told me to do my research. I did and in the end I came back to Ayers Legends. The shipping of Ruger to me was exceptional. He arrived in perfect health and when I took him to the vet the next day the vet was amazed at his health. Clear eyed, eating and drinking just fine and ready to play and meet the world. He has since grown into a magnificent dog. He is CGC, CGCA Nose Work 1 and Therapy Dog certified. I would recommend Robert's dogs to anyone and do all the time when I'm asked where Ruger came from. The FB group we have is amazing. Full of love, support and information that helps me learn, grown and be a good dog owner.

I did tons and tons of research when looking for my first non-rescue, just what I wanted pup. I was give so many references about a GSD breeder in OK named Ayers Legends. I started following them, joined their Facebook group and soon fell into a FAMILY! After much deliberation we decided on a pairing we wanted a female from. 7 months ago our baby girl Harper Rose arrived from OK. She is amazing! Our vet says PERFECT too! We will never have anything but an Ayers Legend again! These dogs are simply magnificent! Make this your last stop if you are looking for the best of the best!

I had been on a waiting list to get one of Ayers Legends German Shepherds for almost 2 years and I am so happy I did. Not only did I get an amazing pup but I also got the best breeder out there along with it. Robert and Casey are always a phone call or text away to answer any questions as well as provide a phenomenal informative FB page for all of Ayers Legend owners. Someone found it necessary to leave a negative review concerning Robert and Ayers Legend due to political issues of their beliefs. This is very immature on their part to bash such people and breeders over POLITICS. Anyone who owns an Ayers Legend German Shepherd knows how committed and caring both Robert and Casey are. These people need to get a life and find something else to focus their lives on.

I have owned German Shepherds dogs for the past 24 years and We brought home our new Ayers Legend puppy on December 15th, 2018. This puppy has exceeded our highest expectation. He was vet checked within 72 hours of us laying eyes on him and was in perfect health and continues to WOW our veterinarian! Not only has our new boy surpassed our expectations, Robert and Casey Ayers have as well. You are not just a customer, you are part of the family! They are experts in the breed and always willing to answer questions at any given time. They provide factual education, share tips, tricks, training, nutrition information and more! I am so grateful to this breeder for providing such care, time and commitment to our large Old Fashion German Shepherds! We are so thrilled with our new boy that we have decided to add another to our family and will purchase from Ayers Legends. In addition, we will recommend to all our GSD friends. Thank Robert and Casey for the love you give to your dogs so the rest of your extended family can reap the rewards from that love too. have wanted a German Shepherd for many years. I began researching breeders about 2 years ago. I was determined to get a straight backed GSD and narrowed my research to breeders that only offer Straight Backed. About a year ago I narrowed it down to 3 breeders in Texas and Oklahoma and began watching their sites, reading their Facebook pages etc. I communicated with all of them. I choose Ayers Legends based on all of the positive feedback I found. The private FB page of owners and prospective owners has nearly 500 people and is full of amazing information. I decided then to get our pup from Ayers. Loki joined our family 4 months ago and he is just an amazing little guy! The Vet and our Trainer have both commented again and again how good natured, healthy and smart he is. Robert Ayers has been completely supportive of all of our questions whether it be on when to spay, how to feed and when to introduce a canine sibling. The support has been amazing! We are adding to the family and picking up Loki's little brother in a few weeks from Ayers Legends and are so excited for a 2nd Ayers pup! Highly recommended!

Ayers Legends German Shepherds are a top notch breeder! Robert and his wife Casey have created a wonderful little family here of loyal customers and we are all constantly in touch with and helping one another on our journey as GSD owners. The Ayers's dedicate their LIVES to making sure customers who have one of their puppies are part of their extended family and could not be more helpful if they tried. They are conscientious people who are kind and responsive and helpful to everyone! You only need to ask for a recommendation or a suggestion or even help and they are right there to talk you through it! We love our Ayers Legends boy! I would also like to provide a rebuttal to a February 2019 1-star review left on here by a "disgruntled" puppy owner. That individual got into an argument on Facebook over POLITICS with the Ayers extended family and was removed from the group. They carried through on their documented threats to be reinstated into the group "or else" and when not allowed they started fabricating stories in an attempt to discredit the breeder. Really immature move. Just want everyone to know that review has NOTHING to do with Ayers Legends breeding program. It's petty vindictiveness. Ignore it.

I am currently on a waiting list for two dogs from Ayers Legends, one will be ready to fly to me mid March. During this time Robert Ayers has been very informative and respectful with me. Robert doesn't just sell you a dog he teaches you everything he has learned in his many years of owning/breeding GSD's via group chats, phone calls, and youtube video. I am very excited to become part of the Ayers Legends family. I will write another review when I receive my puppy :)

We brought our puppy home on Saturday, 12/15/18. She had diarrhea the first few days and so took her to the vet. Turned out she had giardia. We've been battling that since with dewormer and antibiotics. Down almost $500, but I don't care about the money. I'm worried about the long term health of our girl

Hands down Robert and Casey Ayers are the absolute best breeders of large old-fashioned German Shepherds. I have 3 of their fabulous dogs and all of them are gorgeous, healthy and huge. Robert really does his research and knows soooo much about the breed. I've called and texted him numerous times (too many to count) over the years. He always gets back to me and does so pretty quickly with the answers. His advise has been so helpful and very much appreciated. The care that he and his wife put into breeding their dogs and raising their pups so that we can have not only the healthiest and best-quality GSDs; but also have the nicest temperament as well, is amazing. His daughters also help out making their breeding program a true family affair. I'd love to put pictures here of my dogs from him, but I don't see this option. Everyone who sees my dogs from him comments on how gorgeous and huge they are. I'm so grateful to have Robert and Casey, who are so dedicated about the breed and truly care about all of our dogs. Thank you Robert and Casey for your tireless work and commitment so that so many of us can have the wonderful German Shepherds we have. The quality of his dogs is surpassed by none. The value (cost) of his dogs is extremely reasonable and the service he provides is priceless. I couldn't and wouldn't recommend any other breeder if you are looking for a large/x-tra large/huge, healthy German Shepherd with the best temperament. Robert and Casey should get Breeder of the Decade!
