Need some more help planning for our daughter's (and granddaughter's) visit in April. It's getting complicated... Sorry for the tome, but here's what we're up against:
Granddaughters are 14 & 16. One has life-threatening food allergies and severe asthma, which is exacerbated by heat. Asthma tends to be worse at night, so we need a hotel with AC wherever we venture.
They were both here several years ago and LOVED Manuel Antonio (one for the park (translate: animal viewing & interaction) - the other for the beach (translate: sand, water, AND animals). Both want to return. WE don't particularly care for MA. LOL
We were looking at beaches in Guanacaste, but the budget may not stretch to cover multiple nights real close to the beach.
Here are the questions:
Any suggestions for budget hotel accommodations within EASY driving distance of any of your favorite Guanacaste beaches. (Remember these are teenage girls and don't want to live in the car. LOL)
Any suggestions for alternatives to Manuel Antonio that might give the girls the thrill of monkey, etc., interaction? (They have done the monkey tours out of Isla Damas, so thanks but we'll skip that one.) Something up near Monte Verde, Arenal, etc., would be great.
Thank you one and all. This is turning into quite the undertaking.
BTW - We will have the food issues handled with take along and simple fare without milk, eggs, or nuts.
