  My older lady friend and husband have some HUGE medical bills (along with a few credit cards etc.) and I told her I would help her in looking for the cheapest lawyer for either a bankruptcy or a chapter 13. Any suggestions for someone that can get it done reasonably and that won't charge her $1,000 or more??? She said that is what she was quoted n I thought that sounded high so I thought I'd check here n ask! Thanks peeps

  $1000 is actually pretty low especially for a Chapter 13 but most of them will at least meet with you for a free consultation. Aaron Huff went to law school with me and is very fair. He is in Florence. Here is his website with the contact info. http://www.hufflawoffice.org/ It's pretty difficult to file any bankruptcy yourself and not get dismissed by the court b/c of all the strict rules however the attorney's fee would be paid through their bankruptcy plan most likely so it isn't like they'd be paying most of it up front.
