  I am impressed that the second line of the history page stated that the Edgeworth club was founded "for the purpose of promoting intercourse...."

  I used to work at the Edgeworth Club. I saw some old photos of the golf course and some newspaper articles in the Sewickley Library. I think they are in the Pennsylvania History collection there.
