Hi folks, in the process of having the city come by to upgrade our water meters, I have been notified that I still have old lead pipes coming into my house as well as the current plumbing set up internally is lead. After doing some research I've discovered that this is potentially dangerous both from a health perspective due to the water quality as well as with the possibility of these old pipes being in extremely poor condition and unstable as a result. I suggest that if you haven't already looked into it that you check in your homes especially if your homes were built before 1955 and the pipes were not changed in the recent years. You can call the city's contractors to get quotes for changing them collectively as well as call public health services to get a water test kit for checking lead contamination.
Also if anyone has dealt with this recently or can offer any advice or knows of any good reliable plumbing companies who do this kind of work that I can get some quotes from, please let me know.
Cheers
