  *crazy question alert Sooo, my husband and I got our daughter 2 guinea pigs from Pet Smart in Dawsonville for Christmas. Cookie and Oreo were from the same cage and we were told that they were a male only guinea pig store. So, Oreo has gotten bigger that Cookie and tonight we noticed 2 nipples at the lower part of “his” stomach. We also noticed “him” getting fatter. Petsmart doesn’t see to have a clue when I called and now I’m thinking we may need to rename Oreo to Strawberry Shortcake! Does anyone know of an exotic vet or someplace that can help us identify the sex of this thing? Does anyone know if guinea pigs can be spayed or neutered? Gawd, I can’t believe I’m posting this! I’m not crazy, I promise!

  You could also try www,guineapigzone.com under the "Guinea Pigs: Adoptables and Rescues" menu. They have a lot of listings. At a quick glance I didn't see any rescues in Missouri, but there are some in adjacent states, for instance Illinois. I recommend contacting any rescues you find directly. They often have guinea pigs available for adoption that they have not had time to list on the internet.
