  Considering a two day/one night canoe trip toward the end of April. Looking for outfitter recommendations, preferably a quieter excursion. Two people, one dog. Haven't floated the Current River in almost 20 years, and it is way past time to get back on it. Thanks in advance!

  Cedar Grove to Pulltite (18 miles) and Akers Ferry (19 miles) to Round Spring are both lovely floats. Even better yet is a Cedar Grove to Round Spring Float. This is 27 miles and a 2 day float. Floating speeds are typically 2 - 2 1/2 miles per hour + any stops. If you take out at Pulltite, then I would recommend renting from http://www.current-river.com/. They are right there by the water and would take you up and you would float back down to your car. If you take out at Round Spring, then once again, I would rent from the end-of-the-journey outfitter Carrs Canoe Rental AT Round Spring: http://www.carrscanoerental.com/ They will take you up and you'll float back down to your car after 2 days. So, you'll either choose an 18/19 mile float or 27 miles float for a 2 day trip.
