A foot race from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay on the island of St. John US Virgin Is. that takes place on the last Saturday of February each year at 7:15AM. Registration is limited to 1,500 entries for the 2013 event. The course begins & ends at sea level but in between reaches an elevation of 999ft. Temperature is usually 80 degrees at start time and the course measures just over 8 miles.
Does anyone recommend any incredible warmer destination races in the winter or early spring? A half marathon or less would be ideal. Looking to escape the Capital district for a weekend

Now that you mention it, I am running the St. John 8 Tuff Miles race the last weekend of February 2014. St. John is one of the 3 US Virgin Islands. I have a house reserved. I was actually waffling between inviting non-runner friend/friends, family, or posting here to see if any other runner/runners wanted to join me. I just think it would be cool to share the experience with someone else who's running it. I'm staying for a week wrapped around the race weekend.https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-St-John-8-Tuff-Miles-Road-Race/210045092090
