Has anyone had experience in buying generic water maker membranes?
If so, who did you buy from?
In what time frame must they be installed?

While in Trinidad a few years ago, I had Rich Boren of Cruise RO Watermakers supply a replacement membrane for my EchoTec Watermaker (which is actually made in Trinidad) and he was by far the best price. http://www.cruiserowaterandpower.com
We are thinking of adding a water maker to our boat, between 8-12 gallons per hour. We had a recommendation of a Spectra Ventura, but new it is a little pricey. Any other brands you would suggest for reliability, ease to install, and price?

When I buy one, I'm going this route because I've never heard anyone lodge a complaint, and they rave about the customer service. Plus parts are "over the counter". http://www.cruiserowaterandpower.com/WaterMakers.html
