Pedro’s House is located in the heart of Gwangju, birthplace of Korean democracy and capital of traditional cuisine. The hospitable city offers something for everyone: provincial cultural experience, local cuisine, beautiful hiking trails of Mudeung-san, vibrant nightlife and sports arenas. We are located nearby the best park in the city with historical relics honoring the May 18 democratization movement.
Our rooms have spacious and comfortable western-style beds. The intimate setting of the guesthouse is cozy and feels like home. We offer a complimentary continental breakfast including juice, coffee and tea. Guests can spend time outside in a hammock on the roof or veranda. Get the feeling of a homestay as Pedro’s father is a city taxi driver and his mother is a vendor in the local fish market. Pedro’s family can offer you services like taxi rides directly from the hostel and tasting fresh seafood before it hits the market.
Guests will feel special and taken care of. It’s more than a stay—it’s a learning experience. The hostel serves as a stepping stone and a knowledge base. It is a true hub of information unique to southwestern Korea.

Hi everyone, I have family visiting and they'd like to stay in a good hotel in Gwangju. Has anyone had family visit and knows of a good one? Cheers :)

When I have had family visit they have stayed at Shinyang Park Hotel and Pedro's House. Pedro's House was by far the better experience! I've stayed at Best Western and though it is very nice it is expensive and on the edge of town.
Hey Gwangju people! I'm going to be checking out the Sangmu area in a few weekends and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good bars, restaurants, and a cheap (but clean) place to stay. Thanks!
Jen L. replied:
Pedro's House is not exactly in Sangmu, but it's quite close. Here's their website: http://www.pedroshouse.com/
Hello, greetings from sunny Busan. I need a place to sleep next Friday night (March 13) before I give a lecture at Chosun University. Any recommendations?

Hi guys,
So my parents just let me know they are hoping to fly them and my siblings out to visit! Exciting! BUT! there is not enough room in my place for them. I am wondering if anyone knows about easy cheap accommodations in the city. I have checked airbnb and didn't see anything too promising and it seems the hotels are super pricey. Any ideas? Thanks!

Funny thing is... Pedro's House is just around the corner from SMotel. Like, a one minute walk.
Hey! Myself and a few mates are visiting Gwangju for a weekend next month. Could anyone recommend us a hotel/motel/hostel to stay in? Preferably something fairly close to nightlife/downtown etc. Thanks in advance for your help!
