Your pet gets to stay at home
when you have to be away from home.
The solution to your pet care needs when you have to be away from home and can't bring your pet with you.
Kennels provide a useful services but what happens when a kennel isn't an option?
Some pets are not able to be kenneled due to health issues. They require specific care and/or medications.
Some pets simply cannot handle a kennel and suffer severe anxiety and behavioral changes while there, resulting in depression, refusal to eat and aggression.
Some pets are of advanced years and the stress of removing them from their familiar environment and surroundings could cause too much stress to their systems.
And not all pets are able to be kennelled! What happens if your pet has feathers, fins, scales or lives in a cage? They still require care and attention as much as any other pet.
And finally, some pet owners just simply choose not to kennel as a personal choice. Which is fine, but what do you do then?
Do you rely on a friend or family member to take time out of their own busy family and lives? It's not that they don't care about your pet...but can they provide the quality time and care every day?
What happens when you are new to town and don't have the option of a close friend or family? Do you ask the neighbours 15 yr old child as a reliable person to correctly care for your beloved family member?
That is where a Pet Sitter is the solution to all those questions and all your pet care needs!!
ABOUT ME
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Christie Drury, I am born and raised in the Lloydminster area. My love of animals has been around since I was a child, in my Baby Book, my Mother wrote - “wants to be a veterinarian”.
After high school, I went to college and completed a diploma in Animal Health Technology. With that I practised in a very busy small animal vet clinic in downtown Calgary for nearly 5 years. While there I began watching pets that needed special... show more
attention for clients of the clinic to make extra money.
But I soon tired of the big city and moved home, since I wasn't working in a vet clinic and I wasn't able to have a pet of my own....I found that caring for pets for family, friends and friends of friends gave me the joy of being around my first love....animals.
I have continued to do Pet Sitting for over 20 yrs. That experience, maturity and with my Animal Health Tech. knowledge about animals allows me to provide loving, reliable and professional care and attention for your beloved family member(s) when you away on vacation or away for work. They get to stay in the comfort of their own home with their own bed, their own toys and as close to their regular routine as possible.
SERVICES
I can provide services customized to suit your needs and the needs of your pet. A free initial consultation with the pet owner and the pet(s) is conducted at least one week prior to the commencement of the service requested. At this visit we will meet with you and your pet in your home to get to know each other. We will also discuss your requirements and create a plan tailored to meet your pet's needs. Then we can complete the necessary paperwork, transfer keys and tour your home. It is also helpful if we feed the pet(s) and give treats during this initial visit.
Please note that dog walking visits and cat visits are not offered on weekends or Statutory Holidays unless it is scheduled as part of a pet sit.
PET SITTING – Ideal for when you go on vacation or gone for a longer length of time!
Depending on the need of your pet and their normal routine, I can customize visits and schedule visits 1,2 or up to 3 times per day. Each visit is at least 30 min in length depending on the need of your pet.
These visits can include taking the pet outside, whether it is just in their own yard
or a walk. Providing fresh food and water, cleaning the litter box, cage,
aquarium, scooping up after them in the yard/outdoor kennel.
........And most importantly... PLENTY of TLC!!!!!!
PET VISITS – Ideal for when you are just away for the day!
Do you work long hours or just not able to come home during your work day? Do you have an aging pet, a new puppy or just an energetic dog that could benefit from a pee break or a walk during the day? Regular walks and exercise helps with weight control and eases anxiety that can lead to behavioral issues such as barking, chewing, anxiety and depression.
..........Give this service a try and come home to a happier, calmer pet.
Additional Benefits of my Services
Home Security – With my daily visits, I am able to keep an eye on your home and your property. I can be responsible to bring in your mail or newspapers, check your basement, alternate lights/blinds within the home, put the garbage out for collection on its designated day, thus giving your home the appearance that it is occupied.
Plant / flower watering – Since I am in your home, and you have plants in the home that will also require fresh water, I can be the solution to watering of your indoor plants and outdoor flower pots.
