Juliet in advance (as a favor) for a crown molding job, and he has been too busy for the last couple of months (!!!) to finish it, leaving my ceiling half finished for my holiday guests to enjoy. It's looking like he is going to stiff me for the rest of the work. Does anyone know a carpenter who would like to either finish the work or pull and redo as necessary? I'm not sure if the work done to date is shoddy, there's an awful lot of putty up there. I paid $400 (labor only, I also paid receipts for materials) for about 200 linear feet, which I feel was generous (again as a favor). I have the tiles, grout, spacers, and primer. The old vinyl tiles will have to be removed and the vinyl flooring underneath primed. I also have a small stairwell and landing that need to be re-carpeted with carpeting that I already have plus I'll need carpet padding purchased.
