Any advice? Our Toyota Rav4 has 3 lights on: CheckEngine, VSC (vehicle stability control), & traction control. The dealer says it needs a Charcoal Canister, which they will have to order from Houston (costing a grand total of $1300 - 900 for the canister, 170 for the filter, the rest in labor). We paid $65 just for the diagnosis! Know an honest mechanic? $1300 is a lot! Plus this car is only a 2007 year with 65,000 miles. Why would the charcoal canister (part of the fuel emission system) be broke 7 years later? Anybody know?
