Absolutely awful company.
My wife and I were purchasing a home and wanted to have the Chimney inspected. This part was actually fine. They showed and wrote an estimate for the repairs. We paid that day. This was in April.
Well, my wife and I decided to buy the house and after closing and doing some other projects, in Sept. we contacted the number on the invoice to proceed with repairs. I left a message (#01) and a woman called back, was very pleasant and gave me the number of the owner (Justin) to call (on his cell) and I did. I left him a very nice voicemail and asked that he call me back.
A few days later (Sept. 23rd) I received a TEXT MESSAGE at 3:21 AM (waking me up) apologizing for the tardy response and asking me if he had already quoted the repairs or if I needed them quoted.
At 6:30 AM (when I was up) I responded and told him that he had already quoted the repairs and we just needed to schedule the work now. At 8:54 he responded with "OK". I waited a while (an hour or so) and asked him how I could help (the CUSTOMER) get the ball rolling. I told him I had the proposal and described the work that they had quoted for. At that point he told me it sounded like someone else had quoted me. I told him his name was on the estimate and I gave him some more details about it (who my realtor was, where the house was located, etc. I even REITERATED my excitement to get the work done)
His only response was a "O ok very possible hahah sorry". Mind you this is all through TEXT MESSAGE - a professional business.
So after waiting a while longer I asked "When can you get in?".
9.5 hours later at 10:43 PM (who does that?) he text me asking me what the quote was for (I already described it once at this point) and how MUCH it was for. I got the message the next morning as I was asleep.
In the morning I tried to be helpful so I took 2 photos of the actual estimate, on THEIR company letterhead and sent them to him AND I texted him the verbiage from the estimate in case the photo was hard to read (anyone else feel like I'M TRYING HARDER as the CUSTOMER than HE IS?)
This was all between September 23rd and 24th.
I didn't hear from him again so on October 1st I text him (I tried to call a time or two in between so we could just have a conversation like normal people doing business) asking him if we were going to be able to schedule the work. No response.
October 7th when I get a text that says "Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to do it"
Now I was upset. A whole lot of back and forth text messages started at this point with me asking for my money for the inspection back because I was going to have to hire another company in to do the work over. After a while I learned that he thought I was "harassing" his office by calling too much. My phone records (that I've printed) show that I called 3 times over 3 weeks. After not receiving texts from "Justin" I called the office line and left 2 voicemails. Yes, the VM's expressed my frustration with 3 AM texts and the seemingly lack of interest in doing the work, but never once was I overboard. The very nice woman called back both times apologizing for Justin's behavior but telling me that HE was the owner and she was just a seasonal worker. I have the VM's saved.
Over the course of the last three months "Justin" has agreed to refund my money for the inspection several times. I've sent reminders by text and I have yet to receive a refund check. The most recent time he asked for a copy of the invoice from Ingram's (you know the one I already sent to him once before). I sent it again. I have still not heard from him and I have not seen the check.
As I promised in the beginning of this thing, I will share my experience on social media as much as I can so this doesn't happen to others.
STAY AWAY FROM INGRAM'S CHIMNEY SWEEP!
