  General contractor recommendations for basement repairs Our basement flooded a few weeks ago and we ended up with ankle deep water throughout. Insurance has come by and said we need to replace all the woodwork down there. We also need to have someone come and check our water softener, furnace, and water heater for damage. I'm a first time homeowner and I'm looking for your recommendations on contractors who aren't going to take advantage of my inexperience and will shoot straight with me. I'd prefer to work with a locally owned or family business. We live within the 465 loop on the Northwest side of town. Thank you so much for your help!
