  I have a question. Was there ever a restaurant on Pembroke Ave. near Buckroe shopping center like a Bob Evans or something? I see that there is a car repair garage there now and their sign covers another sign. I am not sure if it WAS a Bob Evans or something else...Any ideas?

  Also across the street from Buckroe Shopping Center, the building that houses T-Body Promotions use to be a restaurant called The White Fox in the 70 s. But before that, it was a Smitty's Better Burger! In the late 50 s to early 60 s, there were 3 Smitty's Better Burger locations on the Peninsula, the one on King street is the original and has never closed. In fact, it still has the same phone number it had when it first opened! 723-0661, but in the old telephone system so long ago it was quoted as PA3-0661...
