  Looking for referrals for great elderly care homes in the valley. My mother passed two days ago and received PHENOMENAL care at Ojai Gardens and from Livingston Hospice. My dad is still somewhat independent and we're looking for a place to relocate him from Vegas where he can enjoy the rest of his days(he's 83). Ojai Gardens is fantastic for a skilled nursing facility, but he doesn't require that level of care at this point. He just needs a little independent studio with meals and some other basic services like laundry etc. Where are the staff really compassionate and loving? With decent food please!   Magda Freedom Rod the Gables is a dream. All meals. All activities. They have completely different pricing depending on what you need. My parents tab is pricey but there is 2 of them in a huge 2 bath unit. Smaller studios start around $3150 per month. Just ask for a tour but obviously we'd be happy to meet you over there!   My momma lives at the Gables of Ojai. They have a Largish room,and heaven knows , many of them are deal with the loss of spouses, independence, etc. The staff might be interested too. 646-1446 and ask for Betsy Smith
