About us
Adventure awaits our children in our classrooms and garden as they engage in games, art and movement as processes of learning. Nature, is said to be the best teacher - and our methods of engaging with our children reinforce just that as we seek to stimulate their self-confidence and inspire their imagination and motivate them to creative expressions and imaginations.
We cater for children aged 18 months to 5 years. Four different classes serve all these different age groups in the most beneficial way. 1. The playgroup for 18 months up to 2 years is our toddler group where the children will play in a small class setting.
Earliest Drop off time is 7.30 am and the latest pick up time is 12:00 pm. Music lessons for the playgroup will be every Friday, Sport every Thursday, swimming lessons will only be conducted from Bee Class level, the German language is introduced gently through some few daily songs and games.
2. The Butterfly Class caters for children aged 2 years turning 3.
In this class the children will now grow into a more structured morning routine with a set part of activities and daily work. Another big step to be taken on in this class is the Potty Training. The latest pick up time for children below three is 1 pm right after lunch and when they finally turned three they are allowed to stay for full day care.
The weekly program is filled as well with Music, Sport, German lessons and occasionally cooking and baking lessons.
3. The Bee Class serves the age group 3 turning 4.
They will now begin to learn the necessary information for their interviews for the Primary Schools.
The children will be guided through all the learning's like counting up to 10, number recognition, shapes and in addition they will be encourage to take on more and more of their daily life tasks like going to the loo unassisted, dress up by themselves, brush teeth, tidy up after themselves etc. It is essential that this is also getting practiced at home.During the first and third term they... show more will be going to the Highlands District Swimming Pool for weekly swimming lessons beside music, cooking and baking and German lessons. Full day care and lunch is now for most children part of their daily routine.
4. The Bird Class is for the 4 year old's turning 5.
In this class your child will be prepared and taught to succeed in the interview and to keep on mastering his/her skills in building up of sets to match to numeral, prewriting exercises and emergent reading.
The different activities like cooking and baking, swimming, music and German will give them a wide area to acquire more skills and explore their talents.
Some general information:
Our kindergarten is run by the German School Society which is run by an elected voluntary Board.
Our termly fees include full day care(for the qualifying age groups), lunch and activities such as baking/cooking lessons, sports (athletics, swimming), German as a foreign language introduction and music lessons. Hip hop dance and the library on wheels, our two extracurricular activities are optional offers and charged separately. show more
