  Looking for a chiropractor. I'm looking for a traditional chiropractor. Not a new-age holistic, essential oil peddling, mrt therapist. I used to have one up north. He had a massage therapist on staff and after a short massage, would crack and snap all the little vertebrae into place. One day he went to a conference and all of a sudden its essential oils and Himalayan salt lamps. He starts dotting my back with different healing oils and starts doing this mrt stuff that left me feeling as stove up and out of place as I went in there. On top of that, his prices went up. The "adjustments" took days to "work" and didn't last very long. I went to "The Joint" and didn't like the high pressure sales techniques they use or the assembly line customer service. I'm looking for an aligned spine, not an aligned chakra. Help? (I work all over Austin, just keep me from going too far west of mopac if you can)

  I see Dr. Hamvay at [Motion Chiropractic](http://www.motchiro.com/). He's very attentive and is definitely a traditional chiropractor like you're looking for. He explains what and why he's making the adjustments that he's making. Very easy to talk to. The practice is just him and his front-desk assistant, so unfortunately you won't be able to get massage therapy onsite, outside of using the [back-roller table](https://www.backbenimble.com/quantum400/images/quantum-400-intersegmental-roller-massage-table-use.jpg). He does have massage therapists that he works closely with and recommends. Downside is that he's very far NW.

I have one in Dallas that I can take her to, but I'd love to find one here...since that would be waay more convenient ;) I'm particular about them though and don't have the time or desire to go by trial and error here.   My husband is a chiropractor, motchiro.com. He is a family chiropractor that spends much more time with his pts than most. All of his reviews are linked to his website.
