I use Keidar for repair on most of my appliances and carry warranties with them. I have a new fridge (under one year old) that needed a new water filter. They told me this upon installation. The repair guy came and installed it. It was 480NIS. He was very frank with his answer when I asked if I could get the part from the US and install it myself. He said it would be much more cost effective since we are not getting the part through them and there is no charge for labor. The filter on amazon is under $30. Needless to say I am ordering from the US next time` but Keidar was great.

Keidar is a service/repair supplier for many American appliances (Dacor, Sub-zero, Maytag). Their service technicians are great - nice, knowledgeable and professional but the company prices are outrageous.
I have used Keidar for many years because they were the service provider on appliances I bought in the US. They do know how to fix everything and they usually come within a few days of being called. However, they totally rip you off in term of prices for repair parts. I was outraged when I found out that they were charging me not double or triple the cost of the part but sometimes up to 10X more! I ended up buying parts online and having them sent over by FED EX. I did this for fridge gaskets, oven knobs, and even a pump for my washing machine.
There is absolutely no justification for their prices. When I complained they said that it's because of taxes and shipping and warehouse costs. While I realize that the prices have to be more, I don't see how they can be that much more.
If you have any other option, I would not use them. (unless price isn't a factor for you)
