  Hi ladies, yes, we have through IWG (International Womens Group) a monthly Photo Club... I do teach some topics, but it is not really a class. More like a get together and sharing the joy and love for photography. We will start again in May, you need to be a member of IWG (www.womensgroup.de).

My husband works for Schaeffler in Herzog/Schweinfurt and we are relocating to the Erlangen/Nuremberg area in several months' time. I am American of Turkish decent and my husband is Austrian (we speak all 3 languages at home!). I am currently working on finding housing. Our first preference would be to buy a small house in Erlangen - but if nothing suitable comes up, then we would rent in either Erlangen or Nuremberg. So here are some questions: - Do any of you have real estate agencies/agents you could recommend? - Do you happen to know of any properties that would be available for a family of 4? - If Erlangen, can you recommend particular areas in or around the city that would not necessarily require a car (I prefer to cycle)? - If Nuremberg, can you recommend child-friendly areas that would be close to A3/easy access to Herzog & Schweinfurt and would again not require a car? - I would like my son to start kindergarten in August. How would I start that process? I pray it isn't so difficult as in Dusseldorf. I am afraid I am not very familiar with the area at all, so any resources or advice would be greatly appreciated.   It is definitely worth considering. I know that the international women's group has a meet up there. Larissa Ahlers Could tell you more about it. Maybe post a new thread and ask members who live there what they think? Now it is a small town, so slower paced and not 'urban' in the sense of a big city. But you have everything you need and good schools, a very green place, a nice old town, I know many people who would love to live there if it were more convenient for them... My husband is from there and we enjoy going there often. And Erlangen is only a few train stops away and Nuremberg is only 45 minutes away for weekend outings, shopping culture etc. the only major advantage erlangen has is if you had planned to send your kids to franconian international school. (FIS) it's an English school but it's VERY expensive. Of course for Siemens and Adidas employees and families here on assignment it's a great option. So from an international perspective erlangen and Nuremberg are definitely better. But when you check out the International women's group IWG you will see that many women come from all over franconia and bamberg is really not far. I think it's a great option...
