I'm looking for physical brick-and-mortar shops that sell non-leather shoes and boots. Leather-look, not athletic shoes, and focussing on "practical" rather than "glam" if I can further narrow it down. :-) I know plenty of online shops that sell this sort of thing, but I'd like to try before I buy.   I think that the only places in Central London that sell *definitely vegan* boots are Vx and The Third Estate. You can get *probably vegan* boots from many high street stores.

  I suspect that most glue is synthetic nowadays. But if you want to be certain, then Vx and The Third Estate (or various online stores) are your best bet.

  When buying non-leather footwear from a non-vegetarian company, it can be impossible to know whether or not they've used animal-based glue. I understand that most manufacturers use synthetic glue these days, but I prefer not to risk it - so I stick to footwear that is assured to be vegan-friendly.
