My hubby and I will be visiting Pana near the end of the month for several days. Our son will have been in the area for 2 months volunteering at Mayan Eco Homestead. We will see what he has been doing, then tour the area and return home to Missouri together. I spent time in Guatemala 45 years ago on the other side of Atitlan, near Patulul. So beautiful. Happy to be returning! I have two questions for this group.
1) What hotel(s) might you recommend in Pana that are "safe & nice" and have a local feel for a reasonable price.
2) I'm hoping to buy a dozen or so pieces of locally woven cloth at fair prices. I'm curious to know if there is cloth woven for "tourists" at market and better quality cloth that is to be found elsewhere - in private homes, shops, etc. I'm wanting the good stuff and a fair trade of $ for cloth. Suggestions of where to find the good stuff?
3) Are there other questions I should be asking or places in Pana we shouldn't miss seeing? Thank you!
