Clarke County Yoshukai Karate
About us
The East Athens Community Center joined with the World Yoshukai Karate Kobudo Organization (WYKKO) to offer free karate classes to the residents of Athens Clarke County and surrounding areas. Classes began on March 28, 2011 and are be taught by Sensei Sherrie Hines, 2nd Degree Black Belt and Certified Yoshukai Karate instructor.
All classes are free, though students will be responsible for buying their own uniforms, equipment and weapons (as they need them) and paying their own membership and testing fees to the WYKKO.
No experience or athletic ability is required. Each student is judged based on their own improvement and development within the style, and each student moves at his or her own pace. Yoshukai karate can provide skills and training for a wide range of individuals, including seniors and people with certain disabilities.
