I began making Fondant-covered cakes almost 5 years ago after watching Cake Boss on TLC. Although I have never taken classes, I figured it wouldn't be too hard, so I tried my first shot at it with my niece's baby shower cake. (You can see the picture of it in the Baby Shower Cakes album... it is the white, pink & brown cake with the baby on top.) I was hooked and loved it so much I began making gourmet cupcakes, too. I use all fresh ingredients and Satin Ice Fondant, the BEST tasting fondant... sweet, not bitter like other fondant brands. (Even people who don't like fondant like this one!) PLUS it's Kosher... and if it's good enough for Him, it's good enough for us!
Turns out the lady I was hoping to do cupcakes and a small cake for my wedding isn't doing cakes right now. I've checked out a other companies, but just curious if anyone has a recommendation for someone that is budget friendly?
