  The Door County Century is a really good ride. I've been up the last several years, Helen and I make a tourista weekend of it. Always the Sunday after Labor Day, well marked, well organized, great rest stops, and very little (too little) recumbent representation. I'd love to see the GMRBC ride out en masse on this one in 2015 - the theoretical date next year is Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015. I've already made our hotel reservations in downtown Sturgeon Bay, and I have the best hotel recommendation if you want to come up next year (don't wait, reserve the hotel now).

  We like http://www.holidaymusicmotel.com/ in downtown Sturgeon Bay. It's about a mile and a half to the fairgrounds, which means I can leave the car at the hotel and pedal over to the starting point (county fairgrounds).
