Since I'm fw drive, I figure if I can get better tires it will let me brake later, better turn in, carry more speed thru the turn and let me be on the throttle more to make the best of what little hp I've got.   You're running STF? You said "there's not much I can do to my suspension" so I assumed you wanted to run in the Street class (very few modifications). STF class changes EVERYTHING! lol The STF rules state that you can run up to a 225 mm wide tire and a 7.5" wheel width. The wheel diameter is unlimited. So I'd recommend either a 15 x7.5" wheel (very popular) or a 17 x7.5" wheel (going to be a little tougher to find). What's the stock offset, bolt pattern and hub size of your stock wheels? I know that http://949 racing.com makes some popular 15 x7.5" light weight wheels. ($150 ea).
