  True, true. In my limited experience with car audio brands (e.g. Rockford Fosgate, Infinity, Alpine), I have only experienced one defect. I purchased a 15" RF subwoofer that had a blown coil. RF exchanged it without asking for a receipt. Granted I purchased it from an authorized dealer (of which there are many, and most are cheaper than CF.com), but I think I would've been fine had I purchased it off eBay, etc. I have always enjoyed the experiences I've had installing car audio components, so I guess I was just hoping to inspire Michael to save some money and try himself. Wiring speakers is never too fun, but at least you know that you're not going to find broken clips or retainers on your plastic bits around the interior if you carefully remove them yourself.
