Moving companies Hi r/NOVA!
I think it is quite likely that we will all be able to agree that not every moving company out there is entirely honest in their dealings - filling up with diesel before weighing the truck, using unskilled labor at one or both ends of the move, holding the goods in lien when they pull a bait and switch.... I've seen quite a few in my time. So with a move from Falls Church to Charleston (450 miles) coming up, can anyone make a recommendation for trustworthy, competitively priced company to move my family and I? Thanks!
Edit - thanks everyone who took the time to respond - some really useful information here, appreciate it!

My Guys Moving and Storage (https://www.myguysmoving.com/) - I’ve used them for several moves over the last 15 years and never had a problem. Even did a long distance - to Raleigh - move a few years ago which included storage and delivery, it went perfectly. You’ll find people with lower hourly rates (although for interstate you’ll be doing weight and mileage, I believe) but My Guys is so efficient the higher hourly rate balances out. I’ll never move without them.
Need recommendations for movers in Fairfax My girlfriend is moving into my apartment in a couple weeks and I'm exploring the idea of just hiring movers and not dealing with the hassle. A couple couches, a piano, etc. Any suggestions for reliable folks with competitive rates? It's a short distance from her current place in Falls Church to mine (close to Vienna/Fairfax City).

My coworker used [My Guys Moving](http://www.myguysmoving.com/) for his move, he said they did good work and stuck to their budget and schedule. For the piano you may want to look for a company that specializes in moving pianos, especially if it's a grand or baby grand. If you move them wrong they can be detuned or badly damaged.
Looking for suggestions and experiences with LOCAL moving companies! Any company you loved or one to avoid???

Had a very good experience with My Guys Moving for a local move out of Fairlington. I was 9 months pregnant (had my daughter 10 days after we moved!) and they were just great, even when I made them rearrange our bedroom furniture because I didn't like the initial placement :). http://www.myguysmoving.com/
Moving from Middleburg to Purcellville next month. Does anyone have recommendations for good local movers? Thanks in advance :-)

I've used these guys four times in the past 4 years for moves in Middleburg, The Plains and Reston - they were great each time: http://www.myguysmoving.com/
