Our 3 yr old Cavalier has a luxating Patella (grade 3-4). It doesn't seem to bother him, but he has a slight limp. Has anyone had surgery to repair the floating kneecap? Would love any feedback if anyone has seen a veterinary chiropractor for this.

Our puppy mill rescue had 2 bad knees and we had the first on operated on by the local vet. Big mistake!! He was in a lot of pain and 6 yrs later that knee is still stiff. Now it's time to get the other knee done and I asked the vet for a referral to DFW Vet surgeons. You must have a referral. Think about it, would you let your GP do knee surgery or would you go to a knee specialist? dfwvetsurgeons.com

Valerie - I totally agree. My vet is the one who said he was not qualified to do it so he sent us to a specialist - Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center on Trinity Mills, just west of the Tollway - Dr. Radasch. He was very very good and they took great care of my dog.
