Could you recommend a non-professional camera good enough to make photos at Empire? I was using an old Olympus camedia at Maelstrom, but it took ages to get ready to take photos from turning it on (by which time the person I wanted to photograph was already away) and didn't really do well even during a cloudy day, not to mention inside or at night without a flash. Then moved to a Nikon coolpix S8000 for Empire thinking it will be good enough for my needs but it is still a bit slow, the photos are a bit fuzzy despite it's internal shake suppressing thingy and photos without flash in less than thin cloud coverage still come out a bit meh. Either I'm using it wrong or it is just not good enough for my liking.
I want something which turns itself on and is ready to take photos quickly, has good autofocus so I don't have to fiddle with it and break people's immersion, takes nice sharp photos in twilight and indoors without a flash, but also has the macro option for photographing details of kit or the like. And size wise not big would be a plus. Is there anything like that out there in a reasonable price?
