  We went on opening day—best split pea soup ever, and the beet salad w/quinoa was excellent. They said they will be marking vegan items on their menus from now on. If you're looking for low or no oil, call ahead (916-594-9812).

  I had dinner at mother last night. it was excellent! Order at the counter, had to jump at a table as soon as one opened up it was so busy for their first sat night ever. I had the vegan gumbo and OMG excellent!! I ordered the foccasia bread thats marked as vegan but i found cheese on it. when i showed them they were extremely apologetic and replaces it quickly. then they even surprised me with a vegan chocolate truffle desert that blew me away! Cant wait to go back.
