  Justine K. wrote: We transferred to this office because our previous provider no longer participated with my insurance. We had 1 cleaning which was fine. I brought my son back with a suspected cavity. It was found that a previous filling had fallen out and the dentist recommended putting a cap on it because there was more decay. My son had a cavity filled previously with no issues. So I agreed to do what is best for my child. They gave him novacaine and began their work. Not long into the procedure my son was in a lot of pain so he let them know. The staff proceeded to say it was "just his nerves" so we continue for some time while trying to calm him in between the tears. After about 20 minuities of increasing pain and drilling they were still not done and I had to stop the treatment because of how much pain he was in. We were supposed to return later to finish but thankfully did not. He was taken to another dentist who indicated he likely had a "hot tooth" meaning that regardless of how much novacaine they gave my son, that it would not help because he likely had the start of an infection and had some swelling. The other dentist caringly buttoned up the tooth and gave him antibiotics which will allow us to treat the tooth without pain in a few weeks. Dr. Marti's office staff told me that I had to hold my self together because my son was feeding off me, as I was tearful that my child was in so much pain and the proceeded to tell my husband that he had to bring my son back because Mom shouldn't. Another staff member started to get snippy because the procedure was taking obviously longer than expected as well. Their obvious lack of knowledge meant that my son was essentially having his tooth drilled with out any numbing and they insisted it was just his nerves. I couldn't be more disgusted at how they treated us and disregarded my son's pain level. Infuriated is not a strong enough word to express my feeling for this office. Of note, they also told us he would have to go to Children's for any further dental work and had 4 other cavities. BE WARE!

  I am so glad you asked that question. The children who are coming to the event in need of urgent dental care will get treatment done at no cost to them. Not only will we be providing Free Dental Cleanings and exams, we will have insurance representatives here from Fidelis helping families who may qualify for insurance but need help doing so. Cleanings and exams are always recommended to be able to identify those children who do have these dental needs. We are fortunate enough to have local dentist who donated their time to treat these patients with any urgent care at no cost. If you know anyone who is in need, please have them call the office at 716-688-7721
