About us
Welcome to Dandelion Henna, where you are invited to experience the magic of henna on your sweet canvass body. Henna has been used on the eve of weddings and holidays as a mark of celebration in India, Northern Africa, and the Middle East.
Dandelion Henna is based out of North Dallas, near the DFW metroplex. I offer sweet designs using a henna paste, or pretty freaking fabulous and unique designs using a pen.
All my henna is made by hand with fresh henna. No chemicals, no hair dye, no pre-bought cones from the store, no black henna (black henna can leave a nasty chemical burn).
I have been practicing consistently since August 2013, and consider myself a work in progress. I work for trade and tips, but that will soon change as I feel more like a master of my art. I improve every day and I look forward to working on you soon. :-D
Henna itself is a plant, ground into fine powder, mixed with oils and other liquids, and applied to the skin. The green paste leaves behind a red, orange, or deep brown color. It is traditionally used for weddings, hair dye, and body art. For ink pictures, the traditional art is used as a basis to create drawings using pen.
Things to know about Henna:
1) The color from the leaf lasts for around 2 weeks;
2) The plant leaves will stain your clothing or blonde arm hair; be aware when you have it applied;
3) Moisture, soap, and chlorine make the color fade quicker than dryness and heat;
4) The color takes best to your feet and hands. According to Wikipedia, it is because there is more skin there;
5) Heat makes the henna stay longer and be darker;
6) Henna is beautiful, and you are the perfect canvass
Care Tips for best results: Leave henna on for 4-8 hours. Avoid water for 12 hours. Use plant based oil to take off the crusty leftovers instead of washing. The less water, the longer the stain.
"Picture in your mind
All that you may be
And with a little time
You will come to see:
That in the game of life
Your dreams will come alive
By thinking of the end result
As... show more
if it had arrived."
