  I was curious if anyone on here might be able to give my some advice on buying a new lens for my camera. I have a nikon d5100 and I'm up for spending up to $1000 on a new lens. Nikon has a couple of 16-300mm lenses I've been eyeing but I'm not sure if the quality would be any good with such a large range. I also have no idea how to tell if the lens would even fit on my camera. And lastly in the next year or so I would like to upgrade my body so I want to make sure whatever I do end up buying would be compatible with a higher quality body.
