MISSION STATEMENT
Images this beautiful are meant to be shared. The driving force behind Greek Isles Gallery is to accomplish just that for clients worldwide who share a passion for the Greek Isles and what they represent.
Simply put, Ginger visited Santorini island for the first time in October 2005 after dreaming of doing so for years; she fell in love at first sight – or photo, as the case may be. Arriving back in the United States, Ginger downloaded over 700 images from her camera onto the computer from that first trip and was thrilled with the beauty she had so deftly captured through her lens. She has since returned to Santorini and Greece five times – including a stint living in Oia village in 2006 and on Poros island 2014-16. Back in the US, whenever Ginger wanted to escape the daily grind of her high-pressure marketing career and life’s infinite to-do lists, she turned to her photo collection for a welcomed respite. Her goal is to share the beautiful places and moments she captured in Santorini and other Greece locales with the rest... show more of the world. Even if you have not been to the Greek Isles, until you do make it there for a visit these images will allow you to capture the dream in your mind for inspiration.
WHO'S BEHIND THE LENS?
Ginger Sprinkle was born and raised in the small Southern town of Lexington, North Carolina, in the United States. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s prestigious journalism school, she lived abroad – twice – in Micronesia working as a reporter, copy editor, and then news editor for Gannett newspapers. She transferred back to Orange County, California, with Gannett before eventually expanding her newspaper career to include advertising and marketing with a firm in Newport Beach, California. Ginger’s repertoire includes being a professional writer, editor, and graphic designer with an extremely strong background in corporate and personal marketing and branding, in addition to her photography career.
An eye for excellent photos has been a part of Ginger’s entire professional career on a daily basis. With her background in journalism and marketing, she is no stranger to photography. Taking photos – and often from angles others simply would not think of nor see – has been her hobby since age 8. Besides that, Ginger’s extraordinary photographic vision was a requisite in her job as news editor when editing wire and local photos for print publication, and later in her own print-design work for advertising and marketing.
Eye-catching shots don’t just happen! There’s more to superb photography than many of us realize. There are early-morning shoots to capture the exact lighting for the mood in mind. There is patience and innovation required to shoot perhaps the same photo everyone else aims for and has taken, but to make it your own – unlike it has ever been shot before. Uniqueness is paramount to Ginger’s work; capturing the extraordinary and unusual is what makes her click.
What started out as an interest quickly evolved into a passion – not only for the Greek Isles, their people, and their culture, but also for being able to creatively capture all that in indelible images for your mind and to display in your home or office environment.
