My passion for photography started at the age of twelve when my mother urged me to enter a photography contest. I was so excited and surprised to find out I had won!
When I entered junior high and then high school, I couldn't shoot enough film. I took the school camera everywhere with me. I'd capture family, friends, and even strangers. A passion was emerging and I didn't even know it yet.
After moving away from small town life to the big city in pursuit of my dreams, I realized over the years how much I missed my desire to utilize my creative skills. Out came my photography shoes that needed dusting off and worn again. I went back to college to gain knowledge in the ever changing world of digital photography.
The art of photography is so much more than a perfect composition, ratio of light, or brand of equipment used. To me a great photo is about seizing a moment that may never happen again - a baby's arrival, a child's first birthday, spontaneous laughter between friends, a family picnic, retirement, or an entertainment showcase.
